Former [twitter=iamdiddy]Diddy[/twitter] protégé G-Dep, born Trevell Coleman, confessed to fatally shooting a man in 1993.
According to the New York Post, the 36-year-old rapper walked into the 25th Precinct in Harlem on Wednesday night, confessing to killing a man almost two decades ago when Coleman was 18 years-old.
Dep told an officer at the precinct: I shot and killed someone 17 years ago.
According to the New York Post, Dep told the police that he was riding his bike when he encountered a 32-year-old John Henkel on Park Avenue and East 114th Street. He proceeded to rob him; when the victim resisted, Dep shot him three times in the chest with a .40-caliber hand gun. Coleman then fled from the scene and tossed the gun into the East River.
Henkel was rushed to St. Luke’s hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.
G.-Dep has been charged with murder for the 1993 shooting, and is being held without bail.
